Dick to manage St. Petersburg

Dutch football coach Dick Advocaat has signed a two and half year contract to manage Russian premier league side Zenit St. Petersburg.

Advocaat revealed that he missed the day-to-day challenges of club football, and refused to extend his deal at South Korea, offered to him despite failing to take the nation through the group stage of the World Cup.

"One of the reasons I didn't choose Korea was that I am 58 years of age and a little bit old," said the Dutchman.

"Those are the main reasons for me to leave Korea, to work day-in and day-out with players."

Advocaat will take charge of his first game for the Russian Premier League club today against rivals Dynamo Moscow.
