Russian Filmmaker Under Threat
Russian Filmmaker Andrei Nekrasov has been quoted in the press as saying he is scared to return to his homeland, after he received ominous threats via his family.
Nekrasov, whose recent works include 'My Friend Sacha: A Very Russian Murder' and 'How To Poison A Spy' - two explorations of Alexander (Sacha) Litvinenko's death by Polonium poisoning, has been warned not to criticise his country on film.
This is the latest development of the ongoing struggle under the Putin regime for freedom of press, with sinister undercurrents reminiscent of Russia in Soviet times.
