Google Choose St-Petersburg

Google has chosen St-Petersburg as the base of its second research and development centre in Russia.

After establishing its first Russian R&D center in Moscow earlier this year, the company says that this investment demonstrates its commitment to the vast Russian market whilst also acknowledging a supposed exceptional engeneering talent that apparantly runs through Russian blood.

According to the company, the new R&D center will participate in the development of innovative search and search-related products for both Russian and global markets. The development also means that Russia has now become one of two countries outside the US where Google has more than one research center.
