The oldest restaurant in St. Petersburg, and some would say the best, Palkin first opened its doors in 1785 and again in 2002 following renovations. High ceilings, elaborate stucco work, chandeliers and grand pianos go a long way to recreating the atmosphere of St. Petersburg's glory days - and sycophantic staff and dishes that once graced the tables of Russia's Tsars and Tsarinas certainly help too! If you choose to dine in the splendid New Concert Hall you can even enjoy live musical performances with your lobsters' necks and black caviar. All-in-all an unforgettable experience. |
