It might sound like something you wash your mouth out with but Aquarel is in fact an innovative 'entertainment centre' on the banks of the Neva at the Birzhevoy Bridge. A three-storied glass house, along with a riverside barge, offer extremely elegant dining in its fusion restaurant, or affordable Mediterranean treats in Aquarelissimo, its Italian kitchen upstairs. On top of these culinary capers live bands, DJs and promotional parties fill a busy calendar of events. Perhaps the main draw of an evening at Aquarel however is the opportunity to see the sun setting over the Neva. Watch in awe as it casts the last of its glittering rays over the rooftops of the Hermitage and St. Peter's and Paul's Fortress.

Yes Aqaurel closed but good news for the people who loved the place and the great view! Soon the restaurant will re-open under the name OKEAN and serve good food at democratic prices. I already look forward to the summer terrace, floathing on the Neva with an amazing view on the old city centre! Good luck to the people at OKEAN!

We wanted to go with some friends living in SPB but it's over. Aquarel IS CLOSED

I must say I was very disapointed by the food tonight, service was quite OK and good choice of wines but that's all....

Petite soiree sympa entre amis, tres bon repas et service correct.La vue est top et en plus on peut manger sur la barge au bord de l'eau. A essayer!

Quite surprised to find a GOOD restaurant on the embankment...Very tasty, normal service and nice view. I recommend....

Hi, I was in this group with Bettina, she is never happy...food was very decent for a group food, the interior is nice and the view is fantastic.Do not worried Aquarel, everything is ok!!!

Fantastic food!!! We had to go back there another time during our trip just to feel the savours once more. The atmosphere was very nice, quiet...awesome view. Going there is a treat and despite the reasonable prices feels like a luxurious event. Highly recommended.

Food and service was not as expected.

Tres bon restaurant, service symphathique, la vue est superbe et le panorama au troisieme etage etonnant! (chef Francais bien sur!!!)Dommage que cela ne soit pas encore l'ete car la terrasse sur l'eau a l'air tres attrayante....

I was dining at Aquarel on December, 3th, 2008.
This restaurant has a new Chef, Serge Fery, French Chef living in St Ptersburg since years.
I have eaten crab, delicious, and then fish with sushis and vegetables mixed with a caramel sauce : unforgottable !

i was there few weeks ago and the food was horrible...i m sad to said that because i been the ex chef there at the opening 7 years ago...sorry.

Must agree with the reviews below - the food was just not fresh or that tasty. There are much better places for fish or sushi in St. Pete!

Hey,
we have heard about Aquarel from the concierge of our hotel in St. Petersburg.
I have to admit that the views were nice, however, the food served (we had fillet and fish) were NOT fresh. They were (although it said fresh on the menu) frozen products!

The atmosphere was very poor and the few Russians who were sitting on the floor with us were quite rude, drunk and loud.

I would not recommend this place to a friend of mine!
Sorry Aquarel, I am not gonna come back!
