Bliny Domik
St Petersburg's worst kept secret is a big favourite with travellers to the city, thanks to its winning formula of tasty tucker at filthy cheap prices. Blinis, for those still in the dark, are Mother Russia's own take on the pancake. Think of a French crepe, with a topping of your choice, and then stodge it up a bit (to help fuel the body during those long cold winters) and 'voila', one blini coming right up. There's also a decent range of soups, pastas and steaks on offer at the Domik; and, come the evening, a resident pianist arrives to tickle the ivories. |
