Mariinsky Theatre

|
Originally built as an Opera House in 1860, the Mariinsky Theatre is best known for its ballet company. The company began receiving worldwide acclaim at the turn of the 19th/20th Century and continued to wow critics right into Soviet times, when it was known as the Kirov Ballet. Since 1992 the Mariinsky has reclaimed its original name, but lost none of its original grandeur. The resplendent three-tiered interior provides the perfect place to experience the same Tchaikovsky classics that have entertained St. Petersburg for over a hundred years. Unmissable! |
